Dental treatment in Antalya: What should a cost estimate include?
If you are planning dental treatment in Antalya, start with two questions. What does the clinic’s estimate cover? And what will travel, your stay and aftercare add to the total? Use this checklist to review an estimate before you decide or book flights.
What should the estimate include?
Ask the treating dental practice for an itemised written estimate. If you are comparing two quotes, look at the individual items side by side. First check whether the clinics are proposing the same scope of treatment.
- Examination and diagnostics. Are the initial examination and any necessary scans or X-rays included? What will you pay if you decide against treatment after the examination?
- Treatment and restorations. Which teeth and treatment steps are listed? Does the estimate cover materials, laboratory work and the final restoration? For implants, for example, ask whether the price includes the abutment and crown.
- Additional services. Ask whether anaesthesia, a temporary restoration or any preliminary treatment would be billed separately. Ask the practice which of these services may be relevant to your case.
- Check-ups and records. Which check-ups are included? Ask what records and what kind of itemised invoice you will receive after treatment.
What might change after the examination?
A preliminary estimate based on existing records can help you plan. The treating practice assesses your dental condition and determines which options are suitable. Ask which items are still provisional, how long the quote is valid and which currency you will pay in.
Agree in advance how the practice will let you know about changes. If the findings or the scope of treatment change, ask for an updated plan with the additional costs before you decide. Ask about any deposit and the terms for rescheduling or cancelling.
How do you budget for travel and aftercare?
Keep three separate totals so you can see which costs are in the estimate and which ones you still need to work out.
- Treatment. List the items in the written estimate and record possible extras separately.
- Your stay. Allow for flights, accommodation and local transport for each planned visit. If you receive a package quote, ask which nights and transfers are included and who pays any extra costs if appointment dates change.
- Aftercare. Find out when and where follow-up checks will take place, who you can contact after returning home and what a further treatment or trip might cost.
Before booking, ask your health insurer in writing whether your policy covers any of the costs of this specific planned treatment in Türkiye and which documents it needs. Include reimbursement in your budget once your insurer confirms it.
